Cameron's Procedure

Cameron had a colostomy and stomach scope yesterday. We took him to the doctor about a month ago and voiced our concerns we had about him throwing up constantly and all of the irregular bowel problems he has had. I have mentioned it to her several times before, but this time she referred him to a pediatric gastroenterologist. We saw her last week and she immediately scheduled the procedures. He is doing well considering, he is very glad to be eating again although you can tell his throat is hurting. He is still running a fever of about 100 degrees, this morning it was 101, but nurse said it was normal because of all the biopsies they did on him and to call if it went any higher. The doctor said he had striations all the way down his esophagus. It looks similar to a cat scratching your arm. This can be caused from two different things: acid reflex or allergies. They both cause damage to the tissue in the esophagus. We will know more by next Tuesday. They also did biopsies in the colon and small intestine. They will be testing for allergies, celiac disease, and ulcer colitis (this is what my younger sister has). I'll try to update when we hear more but probably not until after all my finals at school.

PS: I GRADUATE NEXT SATURDAY FROM BUTLER!!!!!
Everyone is invited, I haven't been able to send out invitations...so here is the info: 9:30 in El Dorado, Butler County Community College GYM, Bld 500. We will all go out to eat at Golden Corral after the ceremony to eat an early lunch!
